The Name "Cornel"
The name "CORNEL" is adapted from
Cornell University in the United States, where
school principal, Bih Hua Chen studied, and her husband, Shyi-Dong received his doctorate degree. An "L" was dropped from our school's name in order to differentiate it, but the school name "Cornel" has a special
significance. In English it refers to a berried plant or herb of the genus Cornus, including one similar to a cherry blossom. This association to a plant is significant because it demonstrates our school's attitude to our students - Cornel views its students as plants to nurture to full fruition.
