"My stay in Taiwan has given me a new perspective of a different culture, which is an interesting mix between tradition and modern technology.
Cornel School is well established, with a stable, honest management and an excellent staff. The school is continually growing from strength to strength.
The children are delightful with very supportive parents. I feel privileged that I am associated with this wonderful school."

"Living in Taiwan has been one of my most fulfilling experiences.
People are so friendly, and go right out of their way to help in whatever way they can.
I encourage prospective teachers who wish to work at Cornel to "take the punt" and try it out!"

Not a day passes that I don't remember something about my time there.
I will always treasure the friends I made, the experiences I had, and most of all the beautiful children I grew with."

"...all of the teachers at Cornel were so nice, and Cornel took such good care of me that it was very easy to slip out of 'culture shock'……
I learn something new about teaching every day. I inherited the 'Dalmatians' just as they started to learn how to read, so it is a very exciting time."

"I am used to teaching large classes and since classes at Cornel are small, I am able to focus on the individual needs of the students.
It is nice to see the students progress in reading and writing."

"Everyone at Cornel works hard to make the atmosphere at work friendly and helpful. The school is well organized with a good supply of teaching aids.
They also supply good, reasonably priced accommodation. Taiwan itself is very different from what we're used to in the
west. However, if you look for the positive points you will find interesting ways to pass your time."

..." I've started taking Chinese lessons three times a week, Twice at the Taipei Language Institute and once with Roxanne and Tara.
We have a language exchange going.
I love my little Chipmunks, they randomly come up behind me and give me hugs throughout the day- how can anyone not love that?!"

" I wanted to write you a note to thank you for helping me to come to Cornel. This has been the best experience of my life!!
I have enjoyed my job, made many new life long friends, had opportunities to see more of the world………and Cornel has made this all possible.
I think you have a very special job finding teachers, and I thank you for hiring me."

Canada is huge, Taiwan is tiny. Canada is spacious, Taiwan is crowded. Canada is cold,
Taiwan is hot. There are a lot of differences in lifestyle for Canadians abroad in Taiwan.
However because Taichung has, perhaps the best weather in the world, and the people in Taiwan are among the world's kindest to Foreigners, the difference in lifestyle is easily bridgeable.
You'll never know until you try!

"While in Taiwan we were truly impressed with the academic achievement of the children at Cornel, many of whom could read at or above the level of American children of the same age."
